I struggle, as many designers do, finding the right typeface or type family for a project. When a project allows me enough time, I will create a custom typeface that I feel fits.

The Elegant Country typeface was created to use on a series of illustrations I did for a line of seasonal home decor products. The illustrations had a crafty, country, farmhouse feel to them and I wanted the typeface to echo that quality. I also wanted the type to be clearly legible from a distance, and match the illustrative style of the artwork.

I've used the typeface on a few other projects as well. I've shown two examples below. 1. It was used for the chapter numbers and titles in a chapter book I illustrated. 2. I've used it on some artwork I sell as framed prints to decorate homes, businesses, and offices.
